Get Started
Welcome
Everything you need to get started with Cension's documentation.
What is Cension?
An overview of our AI-powered data platform and what it can do for you.
Cension is a modern data platform that combines the familiarity of spreadsheets with powerful AI capabilities. Instead of wrestling with complex databases or writing custom code, you can import your data and create intelligent workflows using our visual builder.
Whether you're looking to automate repetitive data tasks, generate AI-powered content, or build data-driven applications, Cension provides the tools to transform your data into actionable insights and automated processes.
Quickstart
Get up and running in 4 simple steps.
1. Create your account
Sign up and log in to your personal workspace.
2. Create a project
Create a new project to house your data.
3. Import data
Upload a CSV, connect a Google Sheet, or generate a dataset from scratch using AI.
4. Enrich
Use the Workflow Builder to add AI-generated columns to your data.
Concepts
Core terminology to help you understand the platform.
Horizontal vs. Vertical
The two ways to process data. Horizontal enriches existing items by adding new columns (e.g., "Find Email" for this person). Vertical generates new items from scratch (e.g., "Generate 50 blog post ideas").
Context window
The specific set of data (columns) that the AI is allowed to "see" when processing a row. This is critical for getting accurate results without confusing the model.
Workflow builder
The visual tool where you chain Blocks (Prompts, Logic, Search Tools) together to create complex AI behaviors.
Dataset
The core container for your data. Datasets in Cension are dynamic—continuously syncing new data in from sources and pushing data out via endpoints.
Audit mode
A safety layer that holds AI-generated content in a "Pending" state, requiring human approval before it is pushed to your live exports.
Credits
The universal currency used to pay for AI generation, scraping, and enrichment tasks.
Authentication
Secure access via Email/Password and Google OAuth.
